Here is what Leslie has been doing:

May 2 - I'll be the guest speaker at the Brownhelm Historical Society, sharing my Civil War and the the Island slideshow.  Wow, what a great group - so dedicated and involved in the community. The  Carriage Barn at Mill Hollow couldn't have been set in a more spectacular area. I was so pleased, there were about 75 people there! They wrote: On behalf of the Brownhelm Historical Assoc. we want to thank you for your interesting program on Kellkeys Island and the Civil War. The room was packed to hear your program! The members enjoyed it very much.

May 4 - While their husbands attended  a conference, a group of 8 ladies got a tour of the KI History Museum, a slideshow about the history of the Island and a tour around the Island.

May 19 - INTERNATIONAL MUSEUM DAY and Leslie will be around most of the day to autograph her books. Take advantage of Free Admission to the museum and discover how the Island got its electricity over the years. Our historic stone church will also be open. What a lot of fun. almost 100 people stopped by, which was a lot considering the ferry did not run the Friday before and the weather was a bit dicey.

May 24 - ROAD SCHOLARS - Before this group starts their tour of the Island, Leslie shares her Historic Kelleys Island slideshow with them and then conducts a special tour of the history museum. Susan Byrne wrote: We wish to sincerely thank you for your excellent historical slide presentation...given to the Road Scholar participants. thank you for helping make this year's Road Scholar programs so successful."

June 9 - PORT CLINTON ARTS FESTIVAL at the Lakeview Park Pavilion, 1100 E. Perry St., Port Clinton OH. Island author Leslie Korenko joins other artists at this really large outdoor show. The park is nicely shaded and overlooks Lake Erie.

June 30 - AN UNEXPECTED VISITOR - What a great surprise - Bob Weaver stopped by to meet the author of the two books that hold some of his family's stories. His roots are with the Heckerman family.

July 13-14 – It is ISLANDFEST! A big two-day event and Leslie will be there with her posters and books.
August 4 - ARTS & CRAFTS SHOW on Kelleys Island on the grounds of the History Museum. Artists, artisans, crafters and authors gather to display their often very unique talents and Leslie will be there all day (10-4).

August 11 – HOMECOMING, sponsored by the Kelleys Island Landowners Assoc. Located in the park on Addison St (a short walk from the ferry), this is a day of music, food, games and, of course, shopping. Stop by Leslie tent and say HI!

September 12 - ISLAND WIDE YARD SALE & BUTTERFLY FESTIVAL Before embarking on the Island-wide yard sale, fortify yourself with a bake sale. Stop back at the history museum at 11 am for a presentation on the Monarch Butterfly. You can even adopt a butterfly!

September 15 - the Kelleys Island Wine Co.'s Wine and Art Fest on Kelleys Island. From 12-7:00 pm on the ground of the winery.
